I'm Ryan Wood, an engineer, inventor, fabricator, and lifelong problem solver with a passion for challenging conventional thinking. As the creator of Questionable Methods, I documents real-world engineering projects that push the limits of what's possible—from custom electric ATVs powered by Bosch drill batteries to prototype development, 3D printing, fabrication, and experimental vehicle design.
Following a motorcycle accident in 2001 that left me confined to a wheelchair, I approached life the same way I approaches engineering: every obstacle is simply another design problem waiting to be solved. Rather than accepting "that's the way it's always been done," I ask a different question:
"Why not?"
That philosophy has led to a growing collection of unconventional builds, practical inventions, and engineering experiments where ideas are tested in the real world—not just discussed on paper.
